depressing, but true. Good luck. What does he want to teach? Is he the longsuffering, hardworking, tough love type that will change the lives of inner city kids or the brilliant eccentric that will revolutionize the way worldly prep school children look at the world? Maybe I watch too many teaching movies.
My Mom's a teacher. She loves the children and hates the paperwork. And the teacher's union. They're sorta a pack of communist bullies, if her stories are any representation. It's a tough job, but if you're husband's half as awesome as you, he'll be great.
He wants to teach theater, or Russian, or a mix of both (he jokes that when a school finds out he speaks Russian, they'll ask him to teach Spanish). I like to think he'll be the Robin Williams of his classroom, haha. Ultimately he'd like to teach at a university.
Well, I don't have any valuable comments. But I am copying the cartoon to post for myself because it's so true. From talking to my aunt, educators' hands are really tied because of govt insistence of standardized testing and psycho-babblers in charge trying to incorporate the idea that "everyone is above average in their own way so they all get A's."
People these days blame everyone but the parents for kids problems. McDonald's, Video Games, Schools, Movies... everything but where the real problem starts...
Seve is awesome though, parents should love him... if they don't they probably aren't worth worrying about...
